Welcome to Craogaldra.
“Every story begins with a single seed. Craogaldra began with two.”
What started as Bragi & Brigit’s Höll Viking and Celtic Art has grown into something far greater than either of us imagined.
Originally, our work was inspired by the history, craftsmanship, and mythology of the Viking and Celtic peoples. Every leather piece was handcrafted using traditional techniques and carried echoes of ancient cultures that valued honor, family, craftsmanship, and a deep reverence for nature.
But as each piece was created, something unexpected happened.
The artwork began telling a story.
The characters became real.
The lands they came from took shape.
Their history unfolded.
Eventually we realized we weren’t simply creating Viking-inspired art anymore.
We were discovering an entirely new world.
That world became Craogaldra.
What is Craogaldra?
Craogaldra is an original fantasy world where every piece of art, every leather creation, every character, and every story belongs.
Rather than recreating Earth’s history, Craogaldra asks a different question:
What if a civilization had grown from harmony with nature instead of dominion over it?
Its cultures draw inspiration from Viking and Celtic traditions, but they are not Vikings.
They are not Celts.
They are the people of Craogaldra.
Their own customs…
their own history…
their own language…
their own legends.
Every item we create is designed as though it truly existed within their world.
A World Between Light and Darkness
Unlike Earth, Craogaldra is a tidally locked world.
One side forever faces its sun.
The other rests in eternal night.
Between these extremes lies a vast twilight belt where life has flourished for countless ages.
Here nine great realms stretch across the world, each shaped by its own climate, culture, and Sacred Tree. Together they form a living civilization bound not by conquest, but by balance.
Each realm depends upon the others.
No realm stands alone.
When one suffers, all suffer.
When one prospers, all prosper.
The Song of Creation
Long before the first people walked the forests of Greenwood or crossed the frozen plains of Isífrostlyn, there were only two divine beings.
Bragi and Brigit.
Bragi is the God of Story, Wisdom, Music, and Memory.
Brigit is the Goddess of Life, Creation, Hearth, and Inspiration.
Together they sang the First Song.
Where Bragi gave form, Brigit gave life.
Where Brigit imagined, Bragi remembered.
From their harmony, Craogaldra was born.
Not as a world of endless war…
but as a living masterpiece where every creature, every river, every mountain, and every Sacred Tree carries a verse of the First Song.
Even today, the people believe that all true creation—whether a child, a poem, or a work of craftsmanship—is simply another verse added to that eternal song.
The Children of the Sacred Trees
The people of Craogaldra are unlike any race found in traditional fantasy.
They are neither human nor elf.
Long-lived, graceful, and deeply connected to the natural world, each person’s life begins in a remarkable way.
When two souls long for a child, their desire becomes part of the Song carried through the Sacred Groves.
If the Sacred Tree hears that song and judges the time is right, new life begins.
Children emerge from the roots of the realm’s Sacred Tree.
Its sap flows within their veins.
Its spirit becomes part of who they are.
This sacred cycle ensures that every child is wanted, every birth is celebrated, and the balance of the world is preserved.
The Nine Realms
Across the twilight lands stand nine realms, each protected by its own Sacred Tree and guided by its own people.
- Ember Peaks — courage, passion, and renewal beneath the Apple Tree.
- Stöehołd — endurance and remembrance beneath the Yew.
- Greenwood — harmony and ancient wisdom beneath the Great Oak.
- Tidewater — healing and adaptability beneath the Willow.
- Moönfàyn — mystery, intuition, and hidden knowledge beneath the Rowan.
- Ashbŷn Wilds — transformation beneath the Blackthorn.
- Isífrostlyn — perseverance beneath the Pine.
- Irönmêre — strength and craftsmanship beneath the Ash.
- Skÿréæch — vision and possibility beneath the Birch.
Together they form one civilization known simply as…
Craogaldra.
The Guardians
Every realm is protected by a Guardian.
Not rulers.
Not kings.
Not queens.
Guardians are servants of their people and protectors of the Sacred Trees.
They carry immense responsibility, standing watch over the balance of their realm while serving alongside Ambassadors, Wardens, Druids, Shieldmaidens, Keepers, and countless others who preserve the harmony of Craogaldra.
You will find a creature in each realm known as the Fréröt, this creature lives among the Sacred Trees and groves of each realm. They are only seen by those transitioning from life. When they appear they carry that person to their final resting place within the Sacred Groves while singing a final lullaby.
The origin of the Fréröt: as Guardians age over 500+ years their bodies begin to resemble tree bark, they begin to move more slowly, they being to see with song instead of eyes. The Guardians become the Fréröt after 700+ years of service to their realms. The Fréröts that came before them begin to show themselves around 500 years to reveal their transition is starting. The Guardians do not fear this, they embrace it. The Fréröt is a sacred calling they all accept when they are called to be Guardians.
Many of the leather pieces you’ll find throughout our collection belong to characters such as the Guardians, Ambassadors, Wardens and Druids.
Each is handcrafted as though it were a genuine artifact from their lives.
Where Art Meets Story
Every leather cloak…
Every bracer…
Every belt…
Every pendant…
Every carving…
Every journal…
Every piece of artwork you see here is part of Elarion’s history.
Some belong to Guardians.
Some were carried by travelers.
Some were crafted by master artisans centuries before the stories we tell today.
Each item has its own place within the world.
Each carries its own story.
And perhaps…
one day…
it may become part of yours.
